Can one persons testimony make a difference? You’d better believe it can!
This is what the believing Samaritans knew, and were looking for concerning Jesus before the cross, and an example of the power of one person’s testimony:
Read John ch 4.
John chapter 4: 4:9. “For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans” (Jews would go out of their way to avoid cities of the Samaritans. They were considered Gentiles)
4:20 (the woman) “our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship”
4:25 (her profession of faith to none other than her own Saviour) “I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ; when he is come, he will tell us all things” (she was looking foward by faith)
4:26 Jesus saith unto her; “I that speak unto thee am he”
4:27 And then the disciples came, and marvelled that he talked to the woman: yet no man said “what seeketh thou?” “why talkest thou with her?”
And so the woman goes into the city:
4:29 “Come, see a man, which told me all things that I ever did: is this not the Christ?
And many Samaritans believed because of the woman’s testimony, and besought Jesus to stay two more days, Jesus preaching.
4:41 And many more believed because of his own words.
4:42 And said unto the woman, now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Note in Acts chapter 1:8 Jesus instructs the disciples to again go to “Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth”
