Part 2 of understanding “the first resurrection”:rev 20:4
Matthew 27:52-53 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. (the barley harvest, Pesach)
1 Thess 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (the wheat, shavout.)
This will be US. “The last trump” was a tradition where trumps were blown in Israel signaling end of the main harvest, “the last trump” is not to ne interpreted as one of the trumpets of the tribulation in revelation.
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? (souls, not bodies of the tribulation martyrs before the return of Christ.)
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (resurrection of the tribulation saints. “Succoth” the olives)
This is the first resurrection. From the cross to second coming. Your glorious future:
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (How can a gentile be a priest of God?)
Jesus is a priest after the GENTILE order of the priesthood, not the Jew.
Psalms 110:4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
Rev 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
