A blessing to my Daughter and her husband on their wedding day. 5/22/2021

My cousin asked for this, and I just found it. Feel free to use it for inspiration. I hope it’s a blessing to you and yours.

To my Daughter Traci Callahan:

Before you or your brother were born, I prayed to God that he would give my children what I, growing up as an orphan, never had. Grand parents, and a close relationship with them.

And..He did.

Wendell and Eloise are two of the sweetest, kindest people I know. They have been very close by you all of your life. I’m so thankful for them.

After your brother came along, I said “Lord, it would be awesome if Travis had a little sister, would you send me a little girl?” And God said “Ok, I can do that”

And..He did.

As you grew, I prayed that God would watch over you, and protect you, and guide you through your teen years. And make me a good father.

And he did.

I prayed that God would surround you with friends. Loyal, loving, supportive friends like Kristen, who love agape, the way Jesus loves us.

And. He did.

I prayed that God would give you wisdom, and a passion for your work, and a love for people.

And. He did.

As you grew, I prayed that one day, God would send you a husband who would love you, and care for you, and cherish you as much as I do.

And. He did.

He sent you Clay.

And not only that, he placed you and your wonderful husband just a few miles away from me. You can’t make this stuff up.

That’s God. Yes. God is so good.

I”m so thankful, and so proud of your wise decision in choosing him for your husband, he is a rare find. A good man.

Yesterday, I entrusted you to him, with full confidence in his fidelity, and his abilities, and his motives, and most of all, his love for you, releasing you to your husband’s care, with no reservations.

I am so proud of you both, and thankful to God for bringing you two together.

Numbers 6:24

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

I pray God’s blessings upon you two in your marriage, and in all your endeavors in your life’s journey together. I love you Traci Callahan! Congratulations!

Blessings!

“Each in his own order”

Another explanation of the first Resurrection.

Mt 13:39. “The end of the world is the harvest” Jesus gives us here the pattern and blueprint.

1 Cor 15:23 “each in his own order” Paul tells us here that there is an order to the resurrection, a sequence, each in turn.

IS 26:19 “Thy dead men shall live, with my dead body they shall rise”

This is a prophecy of Jesus resurrection and the saints who will rise with him. Those saints are in Matthew 27:52-53, first fruits barley, and are seen again as “the elders” in Revelation.

Job19:26, The worms shall eat my body, yet in my flesh I will see God”

Job knew he would rise again.

David speaks of Jesus death, burial and resurrection in Psalms 16:10 “thou will not leave my soul in hell; nor suffer thy Holy One to decay” David referring to Sheol, referenced in Luke 16.

Pesach, the first harvest period, it begins with first fruits barley.

Jesus rose from the dead on feast of first fruits.

Mt 27:52-53 “and the graves were opened”. OT Saints.

Eph 4:8 “He descended into the lower parts of the earth, and gave gifts to men. ” (Paradise). Jesus releases the saints in sheol to ascend to heaven.

Rev 4:4 “24 elders, sitting on thrones with white robes and crowns” (OT saints judged and rewarded already, with their crowns).

Next harvest: Shavout. Means to remove.

Barley, 1 Thess 4:13, Then first fruits wheat. (rapture), then first fruits olives, then wheat. Soon I hope.

Harvests begin and end with trumpet blasts in Israel.

1 Thess 4:13 “The dead in Christ shall rise first” (The barley, from the cross to this point).

1 Thess 4:14-17 “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up” Rapture, firstfruits wheat, Pre Tribulation.

Rev 11:6 These are “the two olive trees”, the two prophets that preach the first half of the Tribulation.   (mid trib martyers, olives) “and the breath of life entered into them, and they ascended”.

Then Jacob’s trouble begins, Israel is betrayed and overrun. The Temple is “trod underfoot of the Gentiles for 42 months. A remnant of Israel flees to Petra, and more Martyers die.

Luke 17:31-32 In that day, he which shall be upon the house-top, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

Rev 14:16 (Late trib martyers, wheat) “and the earth was reaped”.

Rev 11:18 After all these saints arrive at the marriage feast in heaven: “The time has come to reward the saints, and prophets”.

(judgement seat of Christ. this takes place in heaven). We return with Jesus shortly after this.

Rev 1:6 “kings and priests”.

Rev 5:9-10 “and we shall reign on the earth” .

1 Cor 6:2 “that the saints shall judge the world?”.

Malachi 3:16-18 “then shall ye return, and discern between those that serve God and those that serve him not”. We return with Jesus after he fights and wins the battle of Armegeddon.

At last. The last ingathering, the gathering of the wheat and tares for sifting. This is Succoth when Jesus returns with us.

After Rapture, we are in heaven: Before we return to Earth, the Lord has to “clear the decks” if you will, and remove and destroy our enemies. He does this alone, then releases us to come take posession of the earth, and reign with him for 1000 years.

IS 26:20 “Go into your chambers as it were” (we hide away in heaven while jesus makes earth safe for his saints to return with him).

Dan 7:13 “son of man coming”

IS 63:3 “I tread the winepress alone”. (This is armegeddon).

Rev 14:19 “the grapes were thrown into the winepress”

Rev 14:20 “blood as high as the horses bridle”. Meaning the rider of the horse would have a vesture “dipped in blood”..

Rev 19:7-9, “and the armies of heaven followed him (his vesture dipped in blood from armegeddon).

Malachi 3:16-18 “then shall ye return”, and judge between him that serveth God, and him that serveth him not”.

1 Cor 6:2 “The saints shall judge the world”.

Rev 20:4-6 “And I saw thrones, (and the end trib martyers lived again”). This is a relatively small company of saints martyered after the earth was reaped and just up to jesus return with his saints.these will be “Priests unto God” in the kingdom reign.

Mt 24:31 “He shall send his angels to gather his elect” (the sheep). These are the saints remainibg alive on earth when Jesus returns, including the remnant Jews at Petra.

IS 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me.

Mt 13:41 “they shall also gather all that offend” (the goats). To Israel.

Joel 3:4 “multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision”

Mt 25:31-41 Sheep on his right hand, goats on his left”

Luke 19:27 “Those that would not that I reign over them, bring hither and slay before me”. (To the goats)

Mt 25:21 (To the sheep) “well done my good and faithful servant, enter in”. (These saints repopulate the earth in the kingdom reign).

Rev 1:6 we are “kings and priests”.

Rev 5:9-10 “Kings and Priests unto God, and we shall reign in the earth:

Mt 19:28 “ye shall sit on thrones” (The 12 over Israel.)

Jer 30:9 “David shall be king over (Israel) them, whom I shall raise up.”

Ez 37:24, Ez 34:27 My servant Davi

d shall be their king” (over israel).

Blessings!

Encourage, Encourage, Encourage!

The following is a speech I wrote for the church the day I finally had the pleasure of stepping down as moderator, and we appointed our new Pastor.

Tomorrows tribute. Ferry Road Baptist Church, 1/5/2022

Today, I would like to share some personal testimony, and thank some of you for what you have done for this church, and especially for how you have blessed me personally.

The Bible says “the Fields are ripe to harvest, but the laborers are few”. In another place it says “one sows, one waters, one reaps, I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant: others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest” .

And Paul says in another place, One sows, one waters, one reaps, with the sowers, waterer’s and reapers all receiving the fruits and rewards thereof.

In our study of Revelation, I wondered why the saints in heaven don’t receive their rewards until just before we return with the Lord. As I meditated upon it, it struck me that the harvest is not over. The rewards are not tallied yet. The harvest has to come in first.

What I’m saying is those who have gone on before us in the ministry will receive rewards that are still building. Their work and reward is still earning interest on our labors. Think about that?

The Bible says “blessed is he whom the Lord finds so doing when he appears”.

Thank the Lord for laborers!

Last Sunday, I had to give up my room and my cot that I sleep in when I come here after night shift.

I had to make room for the children, for our ministers. Room for a growing church. You don’t know how much that blessed my heart.

I’ll find somewhere else to sleep, don’t worry. Thank you Shannon!

As ministry team partners, we ESPECIALLY are to love one another, encourage one another, bear one another’s burdens, to speak blessings to one another, and pray for one another. Today, I’d like to do Just that.

Today, I’d like to take a little bit of your time for to honor and encourage some of our new ministry team partners, as well as some of our long standing pillars of our church.

Over the course of the last 2 or 3 years, they have all proven their loyalty, faithfulness, HUMILITY, Their Christian love for one another and the Church, as well as their willingness to learn, but most of all, their willingness to get along. “some things ain’t worth being right about”.

Many of you I did not even know two years ago. And Three years ago, most of you had no idea you would be here today. As Darron said a few Sundays ago, It is not an accident that you are here. The Holy Spirit put you here. You have brought life to this church. Thank you.

For me personally, in the past, there have been some discouraging times. There have been storms. There have been battles, there have been WARS. But today, the wind blows gentler, the grass seems greener, the birds songs seem sweeter and louder, and the sunshine seems brighter.

There were Sunday’s in this Church journey, just a couple years ago when I wondered if anyone was going to show up at all. In years past, there were times when It was Just me and Earnest.

Earnest asked me one day as we were walking out of church. “why do you do it James?” “why do you come?”

It caught me by surprise: I thought a minute, and I finally told him it was because I loved him, and supported him, he was my mentor, my teacher, my counselor, and my best friend. “Where else can I go Earnest? Why would I go anywhere else?” he just smiled, looked ahead and kept walking.

After a moment, finally, echoing some of his own wisdom he had given me long before, I said “Preacher, I know It’s lean times now, and it has been for years, but you told me one time that sometimes you just have to sit still, be content with the situation, and just do, even when what you are doing doesn’t appear to be fruitful at the time. We don’t know who the Lord will send, or who is going to come through them doors after we are gone”. I guess right now, all we need to do is keep the doors open.”

He didn’t respond, kept on driving, and he never asked me again.

At that moment, It had not occured to me that the day would come when the church and I would have to pick up his mantle, and continue. And We did. No one shirked. No one ran. No one quit. We continued.

Then the Lord sent Darron. And he sent others, and more came. and I’m hoping he will send more.

Today, I rejoice. Often I weep tears of joy on my way home.

So many folks have started attending. SO many have started supporting us, and I happily find myself in a situation where I am not as crucial, or important to the Church as I once was. Grady , and our other pillars will tell you, that’s not a bad place to be. LOL!

Don’t get me wrong, I am not going anywhere!, I just want to say “THANK YOU!”

But thanks you all, the church no longer has to worry about the

day to days, or Sunday to Sunday.

So many of you came up alongside of us, in this church, and devoted your time, talents and abilities, as well as your finances to continue the ministry of this church, and again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Today, As moderator, with the churches blessing and permission, , I want to be a facilitator, an enabler, and an encourager, and give our ministry team members more liberty and freedom to practice, to prepare, and, if they like, to pray alone in our sanctuary as the Lord leads them.

And don’t worry about the light bill, the Lord’s got that little bit, you just serve. And pray.

For those who don’t have I have a key, I have one for you, and a token of our appreciation, a gift I’d like to give each of you on behalf of the church.

This tribute goes out to: Grady, Tonya, Trixie, David, Peggy, Greg, Shannon, Belinda, and Darron:. I’d ask that come as mentioned, and you remain here with me for a moment of prayer..

Grady and Tonya: They are trustees, with Grady being the CEO of your newly incorporated 2019 Church. Both are pillars, and have stuck by the church through thick and thin. I won’t go into the details, but they both stepped to the line. They have seen a battlefield I hope none of you ever see, and I hope we well never see again. Not just a battle, a war. They are warriors. They stood by Earnest , they’ve stood by me, and they stand by Darron and his wife, I’ll always love you for that.

I can’t thank you enough for your support, and your personal contributions on a day to day basis. I love you both so much. Here is dinner on us.

Dale and Linda: Dale and Linda are as reliable as a clock. They have been pillars here as long as I can remember: Dale helps me “With the bag”, helps keep an eye on the church, and plays guitar for us, and Linda sings.

It’s easier for some folks to get to church than others. I know with Dale’s health, many Sundays have been much more difficult than others for you both, but you come anyway. The Lord remembers such things, and there’s a paycheck coming for that, and I want you to know we appreciate it, and we love you for it. And we want to recognize and thank you for your contributions to this church. For that, on behalf of the church, as a token of our appreciation, here is gift certificate for a restaurant of your choosing.

Trixie: is Tonya’s backup. She likes to be invisible, but I see her, Darron sees her, The church sees her, and we are grateful for the things she does for our church. Here is dinner on us.

David and Peggy: What can I say? You both seemed to just know where you fit in. Thank you for supporting us, for helping us with your contributions and your talents. Thank you, we love you. Your not allowed to go any where now, Here is dinner on us.

Greg and Shannon: What is there to say? This church is so much better with you both here, and your contributions. And Grady says HIS life is so much better with Greg in it. They love you, We love you, We thank you and we appreciate what you do for us, So neither of you is allowed to go anywhere now. Here, dinner on us.

Belinda: A minister’s wife is the toughest job in the ministry. Ministers come home from the battlefield with wounds, and slings and arrows in them, and not all their wounds are visible. Their wives have to deal with it. Thank you for your patience, for your talents, thank you for your prayers, and your contributions to our church, we appreciate your sacrifices and we love you for it. Here, dinner on us.

And FINALLY, Darron: what is there to say? I liked Darron the first time I saw him. and you know why? because he seeks to not make a reputation of himself. He has a HUMBLE, servant mentality, and the first time he walked throught the doors, he came to church dressed MODESTLY, not in a silk suit. But most of all, Darron is an encourager, and he knows the power of prayer, and friendship, and fellowship, and much of our recent success is attributable to him. And as he often says, “the best is yet to come!” For that, THANK YOU! and we love you!

Close:

As The man handed me these keys, It struck me how much they looked like Jewels. It brought to mind the scriptures Malachi 3:16-18

“And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels: and I will spare them, as a man spareth his won son that serveth him: Then they shall return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God, and him that serveth him not”

The Lord put you here,You are jewels. You are angels. You are answered prayers. At this moment, you are right where the Lord wants you to be.

Thank you ALL for breathing life into our church by the power of the Holy Spirit working in you all.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, We thank you for bringing us here today Lord. We thank you for your blessings. We thank you for the harvest. We thank you for the joy of serving you, we thank you for choosing us as laborers for your harvest,

I ask your blessings upon these fellow laborers Lord, bless their families, bless their marital relationships Lord, bless their children, bless their health, bless their finances, bless their down sitting and their rising up. , and bless their ministries where ever they go, bless all their endeavours Lord.

May the Lord, bless you, and keep you, May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and give you peace, amen. Lord thank you, thank you , thank you, In Jesus precious name, amen.
