OSAS. A simple explanation.

Bible study tip #9: When presented with competing doctrines, the one that makes the most SENSE is the preferred one. (See my blog post: “tips for Bible study”).

The sum total of the other side : Once again, if their doctrines be true, and a person can lose their salvation, then THEY have zero assurance of heaven, and stand just as much chance of going to hell as anyone else, including the unbelievers.

They may fail in the end, and see hell, while an unbeliever may believe and go to heaven. They may very well end up in hell with those they condemn. That’s fatalistic nonsense. A complete absurdity. IF all that counts is where fate finds you in the end, what guarantee do you have that you won’t go to hell when you die? You don’t. That is not good news folks.

When I chose Jesus, I did not surrender free will, but I made an irreversible decision.

The Once Saved Always Saved side:

Salvation is the free gift of God to the Believer, by grace through faith, not of works, lest any man boast. Eph 2:8-9.

The Lord may slay a believer for rebellion, (Gen 38:3-10, I Cor 5:5, Acts 5:1-10, 1 Sam 28:19) He may shorten my days because of rebellion, He may strip me of my rewards at Judgement, he may even give me stripes, (Luke 12:47) but JESUS will NEVER, EVER forsake a believer. We belong to Jesus forever. THAT is good news folks.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. This Is an unconditional promise to the believer. Jesus loves us that much.

Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

God is not mocked, we are accountable for our behaviour and deeds in the flesh. But it is not a salvific issue.

Dan 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Those that labor in the Lord will be rewarded accordingly, not all will recieve the same reward.

Mt 25:21 thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

What if we lose faith? Jesus owns us. We are bought with a price.

1 Cor 6:20: For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
2 Tim 2:13
If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

There is nothing hidden at judgement. Every idle word will be brought out. Then how do we keep a short account? How do we NOT carry any sin into judgment? PRAY!

1 J 1:8-10 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is ot in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 2:28 Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.

2 J 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

Mt 6:11-12 Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

Even in apostasy, Jesus will not forsake a believer. He holds up his end of the deal unconditionally. Solomon was an apostate. 1 K 11:4 For when Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and he was not wholeheartedly devoted to the LORD his God, as his father David had been. Eli is another example.

Luke 12:47 And that servant, who knew his lord’s will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many’stripes.

Luke 12:47 But the one who unknowingly does things worthy of punishment will be beaten with few blows.

1 Tim 5:24 Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

We all will give account for the good and the bad.

“So say your prayers and take your vitamins” (Hulk Hogan, retired professional wrestler), and look forward to seeing and spending eternity with Jesus one day!

God Bless!

The Trinity. Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

The Trinity is such a simple intuitive topic, but for some reason, many deny its existence.

Trinity can best be explained simply by looking at yourself. Without the the SPIRIT of life, your body useless, merely a cadaver.

Without a body, you are a ghost.

Without a soul, you would be a mindless zombie.

“Me, myself, and I”. Body, soul, spirit. Father, Son, Holy Ghost.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

We are made in the image of God.

Another analogy is an egg. Three parts in one, shell, white, yolk.

Water is another. Vapor, liquid, Ice.

Paul says “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” , 2 Cor 5:6-8, and in Revelation 6:9, we see the SOULS of tribulation martyers under the altar talking to God in heaven , and they have not been resurrected YET, so logically there is no such thing as “soul sleep”.

Rev 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Jesus said to the Father at his death, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit” and he died.

Luke 23:46  “Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, ‘Fatherinto your hands I commit my spirit!’. And having said this he breathed his last” ( Luke 23:46 ).

John and Moses are seen talking to God at the mount of transfiguration, and their bodies were still in the grave.

Matthew 17:3,4 And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him.

A plain manifestation of bv the trinity is fiund in Matt 3:16-17, after Jesus was Baptised. Three separate persons were manifest.

Matt 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17:And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Another place is 1 John 5:7-8 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”

Trinity deniers cite 1 John 5:7 as a verse “that doesn’t belong in the Bible” , which is a totally ridiculous statement. You cannot deny one part of scripture while accepting other scripture. And lastly, I always ask them “which two of “Father, Son, and Holy Ghost” do you deny? Pick two” to date I haven’t received an answer.

Titus 3:9 “but avoid foolsh questions and geneologies, and strivings about the law”.

Is Jesus God?

Jesus is God.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

Col 2:9 “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

Hebrews 1:3 “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high”.

Rev 1:6 “And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever.”

Rev 19 “And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems ; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.”

John 14:6. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

John 5:22 “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son”

1 John 2:22 “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.”

Free will?

Theres a difference between free will and an irreversible decision. Changing your mind about Jesus and salvation (who would want to?) Does not mean salvation can be reversed, forsaken, forfeited, or “walked away” from. You are bought with a price. You sold yourself.

That’s what so many do not understand.

Salvation is not some sort of process. It is a one time, irreversible, irrevocable transaction. Your sins, past, present and future, for the righteousness of Jesus Christ. That is a done deal.

THANKFULLY , Salvation is a free will decision that cannot be changed or reversed.

One example is the Jewish bride. Once the bride accepts the dowry, she has sold and surrendered any rights to refusal going forward. Even in adultery or divorce, she keeps the dowry. That is a pretty good deal. THAT is unconditional love.

You cannot “un born” yourself. A new creature cannot return to its former, you cannot unkill a Lamb , or return the shed blood of Jesus. And you cannot crucify Jesus again because he is immortal and cannot die (as we will be also one day).

We are bought with a price, forever sealed in the blood of Jesus. There is no greater peace, no greater love, and no better life changing feeling to know, without a doubt, I’m going to heaven.

I would hope that all believers under a yoke of bondage come to the knowledge of this truth.

Heb 6:1 So let us move beyond the simple teachings about Christ. Let us grow up as believers. Let us not start all over again with the basic teachings. Rom 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,”“Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Jesus died one time for all men. Rest in his mercy, rest in his love, rest in grace.

The #1 Rule for Bible Study.

When faced with competing doctrines, choose the one that is most practical and makes the sense. No the one that makes NO sense.

From Hugh: “James Dixon, While I’m not a Lutheran, I recently watched an interview with Lutheran pastor Will Whedon, and I liked how he put it.

“It is entirely possible that the wantonness of the flesh can drive out the work of the Spirit. It is possible to fall away. … If you live your life at the receiving end of God’s gifts, the Holy Spirit will keep that from happening. … We pray for that gift. We pray for the gift of perseverance, and we believe we receive it.”

Whedon and I might disagree on what it means to live our lives on the receiving end of God’s gifts, but he has a good thought there. While it is possible to fall away (i.e. lose salvation), it’s not something that we have to worry about if we worship regularly and keep ourselves from impenitent sin. After all, Paul admitted he had to “die daily” (1 Cor. 15:31). What do you suppose that meant?

Response: Stephen Hughes it is very possible to “fall away” in a carnal sense, but it is impossibke fir a believer to go to hell. Samson and Saul are good examples. Solomon is another, and they are all three in heaven.

Salvation is not of the will of man, but the power of God.

“Falling away” can result in loss of rewards, a whipping at judgement, or a shortened life, but NOTHING can separate us from.the love of God.

That Lutheren is just as unread as you are, but keep trying, you make a great sounding board.

And you are completely ignoring the fatalistic sum total of your own belief system.

Bible study rule #1: When faced with competing doctrines, the one that makes the most SENSE is usually the correct one.

And conditional salavation, aka Lordship salvation makes absolutely no sense, it is works based and a complete absurdity.

According to your OWN belief system, YOU cannot say you’re not going to hell when your time comes. That must be an awful existence.

Just listen to Jesus, and rest on his grace and love.

An explanation of John 14 : 1-3

In John 14, Jesus was using the pattern of the Jewish betrothal to explain pre tribulation rapture.

In that after the official betrothal, the Groom makes an official announcement at a going away party “I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am , there ye may be also”

He spends at least a year building a home for his bride, an attachment or part of his fathers house. (Rev 21)

When the father approves the dwelling, he is then given permission to go fetch his bride.

He often goes in the dead of night with an assembly of friends. Within hearing distance of her home, a shofar is blown, to awaken her family and friends, given her just enough time to grab her things to go back with him. . (With the trump of God, and a shout, 1 Thess 4:13-17)

Within hearing distance of the house , a collective shout calls the bride out to meet her groom, and they return to his fathers house for a 7 day feast. Why 7 days?

Because the date was not set, or pre planned, so a week gives family and friends a chance to make arrangements to attend the festivities and rejoice.

When the groom arrives back at the Father’s house with his bride, the city elders are summoned to witness the reading of the Ketubah “to him that overcometh” Matt 27:52-53, Rev 2-5.

Then the feast begins, and others areive to celebrate (rev 11:6, Rev 7, Rev 14:16) , and near the end, the groom steals away for a moment and makes the earth safe for his bride (Is 26:19-20). He returns alone, wins at armegeddon and then he brings his bride and the assembly, (Rev 19) and RETURN to the Bride’s mothers house for ANOTHER, even longer feast.

This is how it was done in Israel in Jesus day, and perfectly explains the Pre tribulation rapture.

In closing, pre tribulation rapture will be a “blessed hope” and great encouragement for believers who follow after us in the Tribulation. They will know others are in heaven, and they will be there also no later than 7 yrs. The two prophets in Israel preaching will also be a great hope and encouragement, for they will know the tribulation will be over before long, and the Lord will return with us to rule the world.

Until then, let us abide in him, and live our lives as if Jesus will appear for us at any moment. Stay in prayer, stay in fellowship, and look for his appearing.

The prayer of the Calvinist.

..Is a complete waste of time.

The Calvi god is not interactive. Why should it be?.

If all things are already predetermined and unchangeable, a Calvinist may as well pray to a tree or a rock, he would get more of a response.

Ergo: he is praying for something that has already been determined to happen whether he prays or not, or WILL NEVER happen if he prays until his lungs collapse. An utter absurdity.

Calvinism truly is a doctrine of demons, its just like islam. No wonder many atheists are former Calvinists.
