“The baptism of Jesus Christ” Addressing Jesus name only Baptism.

“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”

Jesus says baptise in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Is he lying?

The “Jesus name only crowd” assume the Apostles contradict Jesus, and prefer them over his direct commandments, putting the Bible at odds with itself. . Apparently they don’t have common sense enough to see that The apostles and Jesus completely agree on Baptism.

“The baptism of Jesus Christ” the Apostles spoke of is per Jesus commandment “In the name of the FATHER, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”.

This ain’t hard. Really.

Blessings!

WalMart rant

I have to walk a half mile to get into the place, then another half mile finding things they keep moving around, with a buggy with flat spots on the wheels “flap flap fappity flap,”

The associates attitude is like they’re getting a tooth pulled if they help you, and they’re doing you a favor allowing you to shop there, then they dodge you to avoid engagements,

Then I have wait in line to check myself out while a half dozen cashiers stand around “supervising” 1 cashier with a line 20 people deep, and watching the mob for thieves, “customer assistants” right.

Then I scan my stuff, with no training, and bag it in flimsy plastic bages that MIGHT make it home, and often don’t.

And Lord help if I happen to have a sudafed or can of spray paint in the mix.

They even make paying the bill a pain in the butt. “No cash” at this one, “no cards” at that one, usually when I have the opposite on hand.

And after all this, to top it off, before I can leave, I have to prove I didn’t steal what I bought.

Such arrogance and in some instances, down right contempt for custumors is why I started spending my grocery money elsewhere.

And their prices aren’t much cheaper than the mom and pop store down the street where a real live human being can check me out.

Nowadays, WalMart is a major migraine for anyone that goes there. May they reap what they sow.

I worked a grocery store for 4 yrs in high school. Walmart is the worst customer service I ever saw. And except when I have no choice, I dodge WalMart like the plague.

See y’all at the Dollar Store and the mom and pop store down the street.

IF you miss the rapture: Seven years to live.

IF you miss the rapture:

Many Christian religions do not teach rapture at all, and that’s ok. Believing something doesn’t make it true anymore than NOT believing it makes it untrue.

But what if it is true? Do you really want to be left behind?

Paul calls the rapture “our blessed hope” and says to “comfort one another with these words”.

Jesus says he will spare us from the hour of trial that is to come on all the people on the earth. (Rev 3:10, Mal 3:16-18}

The Bible says for those left behind, who have heard the gospel and rejected it already, that “they will be sent strong delusion, so that they would believe a lie and be damned”. (2 Thess 2:12).

Take that however you will, but for me it means IF you miss rapture, and you have heard the gospel and rejected it, You won’t get another chance to accept Jesus as your Saviour. Your conscience is seared. God has sent you a strong delusion, you will not be able to believe anything but a lie, and you will most likely die in the tribulation.

If you don’t know him, accept Jesus as your Saviour today, tomorrow may be too late.

IF you miss the rapture.

I am not here to talk you into rapture, or pre trib rapture, or post trib rapture, but the one that makes the most sense, and is the most likely is the pre tribulation rapture. I have many other posts concerning Pre trib rapture.

My goal here is to assume the pre tribulation rapture is true, and take a hypothetical view from an unbeliever’s position. Allow me to make my case.

What if its true? What IF there will be a Pre tribulation rapture? What if it happens? What are the implications?

This post is predicated on two things you must know: I define “Christian” as a person who believes in Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Whether he be Catholic, or Mormon, or a Yiddish Tibetan monk in Kookamonga, If he loves Jesus, for the raptures’ sake, he is a Christian, and only Christians will be taken in the rapture.

The second predication is that ALL Christians on earth at the time will be taken, not just the “righteous” ones. Many, like Lot, will be considered unworthy by the world’s standards, but Jesus, in his love, mercy and grace will save us in spite of ourselves simply because we believe in him, and as such, we belong to him.

Just as Lot was removed from Sodom, “vexed his soul with the filthy conversation of the wicked”, so shall it be with many Christians when Jesus appears for his people. Many will stand ashamed, and many will stand with confidence when Jesus appears for us, and takes us back to the Father’s house in heaven.

So with this happening, how will it affect the rest of the world? Looking at the numbers will give you an idea.

One of the best ways to understand what would happen to the world immediately after the rapture is to look at the numbers.

Lets start with the percentage of Christians in the different regions of the world. According to most internet sources, there are 2.2 billion Christians in the planet, about 25% of the earths population, followed by 1.8 billion Muslims.

These Muslims will still be here after rapture. World wide Jihad will begin.

China is about 2% Christian. The middle east is about 5% Christian. IF their Christian populations were to vanish, they would barely notice anything happened. There would not be any Christians around, but life would continue on as if nothing happened.

The United States, Brazil and South America are from 70-95% Christian. Think about what life would be like if 70-95 % of their populations vanished in the twinkling of an eye.

IF the rapture hit the United States during the daytime, and people vanished from their homes and vehicles, just imagine the chaos.

Imagine the fires caused by unattended fireplaces? Imagine the carnage on the freeways at rush hour traffic? The highways all over the country would be clogged with empty vehicles. Imagine. And there would be nobody to help.

In major cities like New York, nobody would be able to get in or out of the city except on foot. The highways would be blocked with millions of empty cars, and wrecks and multi car pile ups the likes no one has ever seen.

IF you are one of those relatively few left behind, at night for instance, about 20% in most neighborhoods, when daylight comes, your life is going to change. A lot. Very quickly.

Most of your Family will be gone. Without a trace.

Your wife? probably. Kids? most definitely. Vanished. Gone. Grand parents? Yes, they will be gone. And you will never see them again.

You’ll find your wife’s wedding ring, her shoes and her clothes. Perhaps her contact lenses, or fake eyelashes. The baby’s crib?. Empty except for the diaper and a pacifier.

There is no point in calling mom, she isn’t going to answer, she’ll likely be gone too. IF she isn’t, she will have her own problems to deal with.

But you won’t be able to call anyone because the cell towers don’t work. There is no electricity. And the water doesn’t work. You won’t get a shower tonight, or a hot meal any time soon.

So you walk across the street to the widows house and knock on the door. The dog barks. No answer. But she’s fine. She’s just not there. Same thing at the next house, and the next. Their cars are there, but nobody is home. Panic begins to set in.

You look around. You see smoke billows from fires in abandoned homes and from businesses and vehicle crashes everywhere. But where are the Police? Where are the fire trucks? Where is the sound of sirens? The flashing lights? The eerie silence is deafening.

80 percent of your Facebook friends. Gone. But you won’t know it. You can’t log on. Forget messenger, your phone won’t have any signal.

The contacts on your phone? 80%. GONE.

Then you’ll notice the lights are out. no power anywhere. With 80% of power plant employees GONE, most would automatically shut down. All nuclear power plants across the nation, with no one at the controls, would automatically “scram”, and safely shut down.

Power would go out nationwide. Good luck charging that cell phone. Land line phones? Forget that, they won’t be working either. Internet? nope. No power, no internet.

You won’t be able to contact anyone beyond the sound of your own voice.

IF it happens in winter, you best start gathering wood for a fire because the lights won’t be coming back on any time soon. If its summer time, good luck staying cool, and finding water.

So you jump in your car to go looking for someone, ANYONE who can tell you what in the world has happened. None of them know either. The radio is silent.

As you drive into town, Cars, wrecks and carnage litter the highways. Injured people, bloody and staggering attempt to flag you down, begging you to send for help. You dodge people standing in the road.

You see mothers and fathers in the neighborhoods frantically running house to house, looking, and walking around their yards screaming and crying for their missing children.

Think Zombie apocalypse. The world has gone mad.

You pull up at the convenience store. No one is there. The clerks are gone. The gas pumps won’t work. Now what?

You look across the road. There is a crowd of people at WalMart. Maybe they know what is going on. The parking lot is full, but 80% of the drivers will never return to their vehicles. WalMart employees, GONE.

Nobody can ring you up, because 80% of the workers are gone, and the rest did not show up for work. They are dealing with the same horrors you are.

You are on your own. If you dare to walk over there, you won’t be able to buy anything, and you will have to fight a crowd to steal anything off the shelves.

The police? NOWHERE to be seen.

IF you could, it would be pointless to call them, there won’t be anyone there. 80% of them didn’t show up for work either. and the remaining 20% are dealing with the same troubles you are. For on duty officers, they will be overwhelmed. No one will be able to come to your assistance. The last thing on their minds, or anyone’s mind will be coming to work.

So you think that’s bad? Hold my drink. I’m just getting started.

911? There won’t be anyone there to answer. Doctors? Nurses? 80% gone. Police? most all gone. Paramedics? 80% gone. Prison guards? Most all gone. Drug stores? closed. You won’t be able to get any medicine, or see a doctor going forward.

You won’t even get the mail anymore. and the trash truck won’t be picking up the trash on Tuesday morning.

Most of the criminals are still in the jails, but nobody is there to watch them. Of the 20% of the jailers and guards left, most of them will be at home, just like you, with their own survival to worry about, and just like you, their lives will be in total chaos.

For the criminals, They will be coming to a neighborhood near you soon. Rapists, thieves and murderers. Better dust off that pistol, you are going to need it.

Hold on, it gets Worse. A LOT worse. Chaos is coming.

Think about the farmers. I don’t believe I have ever met a farmer that did not love the Lord, but at least 80% of them will be gone. Their tractors will be idle. Their crops will go to waste. And 80% of next years food will never be planted. And there won’t be anyone to pick it, process it, and transport it anyway. 80% of the United States food supply will not be on the shelves in the coming months. Famine is coming.

The Production and supply chain to our nations grocery stores will be broken. 80% of our truck drivers won’t be here.

Food prices will sky rocket. Stores will empty of food and shut down because of panic buying and no electricity. But you are broke, the banks are closed, and the ATM’s don’t work.

With no electricity, and no way to keep frozen foods, the only thing most folks will have to eat will be whatever they have in their cupboard, or what they can scavenge from fields, gardens and abandoned empty houses in the neighborhood.

Good luck pilgrim.

You go back home. No TV. No heat. No water. No air. No internet. No family. No food.

You are going to be as grief stricken, terrified, alone, isolated, and as lonely as you have ever been in your life. And you have, at the most, seven years to live. IF you miss the rapture.

Ironically, Those 80% that left you will be at a party in heaven. rejoicing. And they will live forever. You won’t be on their mind. And they won’t miss you. And you have seven years to live at the most.

In China and the Muslim world, they barely noticed anything happened, and since the Western world just went dark, it will be a while before they have any idea anything happened, but the world balance of power just changed. China is now the world’d dominant superpower, and Islam just became the world’s dominant religion.

What does that mean for you? it means Communism. It means Islam. It means forced conversion. It means death.

It means in the next seven years, IF you survive that long, you will see horrors you cannot imagine.

You will see your nation’s language change. Your property confiscated. your guns? confiscated. Your money? confiscated. You will own nothing and be happy.

You will see wars, plagues, famine and pestilences. Extreme hurricanes, drought, torrential rains, persecution and poverty.

You will have no rights. You will be a subject of the New World Order. A citizen slave. Just do as you are told. Or suffer the consequences. IF you miss the rapture.

Part 2 coming soon.

Time in heaven. 2 Peter 3:8

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”.

I lost a dear friend a few years ago, and I miss him a lot. I often go and sit by his grave and talk to him.

I know he doesn’t hear me, but I talk to him anyway, who knows right?

One Sunday morning while I was at his grave, It occurred to me that he had been dead almost two years. And I wondered how long he had been in heaven.

Some time after that, My Pastor and I had to work a funeral. A young woman had passed away, leaving 3 young children and a loving family behind.

In the months prior to that, I had been pondering about time in heaven, and when it came my time to speak and comfort the family, I reminded them that their mother, their daughter, their wife, their sister was with the Lord in soul and spirit, (rev 6:9, Ecc.12:9) and reminded them that by the time THEY get there, she probably would not have had any time to miss them.

For her, when they see her again, the time apart from them would seem as only be a moment, all tears would be wiped away, and they would never again be separated.

I asked them to encourage themselves with that thought. She was no longer suffering, and she was with her loved ones who had gone before her, and much happier than we can ever hope to be in this world. I asked them to take comfort in that.

Later that week at church, I was asked how I had reached that conclusion about how time passes in heaven.

So I explained it this way, using three very profound verses of scripture.

2 Peter 3:8 “but, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”

Ecclesiastes 12:9 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

So let’s examine what Peter says in 2 Peter 3:, let’s break this down, take it for what it says literally, and see if it makes any sense.

If a thousand years in heaven is a day, or 24 hours here, then a year here is a little over a minute in heaven, about 70 seconds, meaning my friend who has been gone almost three years has been with the Lord about 3 minutes at the time of this writing.

My friend has not had time to even miss me, he is at a family reunion hosted and sponsored by our Lord Jesus, and when I do see him, it will be like I just walked in the door after he woke up one morning. I mean, he hasn’t even had time to fix a pot of coffee, so we can pick up where we left off before he left me.

That thought has been a great comfort to me concerning him, and when I think of all my loved ones that have gone to be with Jesus.

So here’s the math I used to come to my conclusion. I pray it is a comfort and a blessing to you, and anyone you share it with.

1000 years divided by 24 hours here = 41.6 yrs. So an hour in heaven is about 41 years and 7 months HERE.

Which means If you lost a loved one ten years ago, they’ve been in heaven about 14 minutes. They have barely had time to miss us. 20 years ago? maybe thirty minutes, 50? a little over an hour.

We don’t have to worry about our loved ones resting in the grave. Their body is there, but their soul and spirit are with the Lord. And we believe in Jesus, we will see them again, and it will only seem as a moment has passed when we do. We can take comfort in that , and comfort others as well. God is so good!

Blessings!

Fatalism: First cousin to reckless abandon, and next door neighbor to stupidity.

“I assure you if we die it will be our time.”

“nope–Not necessarily.
Sinful conduct can actually shorten the lives of believers. The Bible speaks of certain people dying prematurely because of some sin in their life. Scripture speaks of a sin unto death.”

The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short (Proverbs 10:27).

Honor your father and mother – this is the first commandment with a promise: “so that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth” (Ephesians 6:2,3)

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse (1 Chronicles 10:13,14).

“Although the Bible says that life and death are ultimately in the hands of God, our behavior can affect the length of our lives here on earth.”

“Many a bold soldier subscribed to such a belief, as I believe did McCarthur and Stonewall Jackson. “When it’s my time, it will be my time, til then, I can do anything”   such a mindset is first cousin to reckless abandonment and next door neighbor to stupidity.” “You are NOT ten feet tall and bullet proof” (Marine War College instructor).

Calvinists are of a similar mindset. I personally believe I cant go to hell, but If I take the notion to live like hell, the Lord will shorten my wait to see him and may even give me a taste of the whip “his portion with the hypocrites” to boot when I get there. (Luke 12:47:48).

Bless you!

The gnostic side of Dispensationalism.

I often hear Dispensationalists talk about “the Mystery” , and “special revelation given only to Paul”.

And they go on and on about “Paul’s epistles” being “fir the church today”, and some even will even go so far to say you cannot be saved by any scriptures outside Paul’s epistles. Paul’s Epistles are very special to them, almost like the Holy grail.

Then there’s “if you’re not following Paul, well, you”re just in a mess!”

Most will completely disregard 53 books of the Bible as useless, and “not for the church today”.

There is an alarming element of gnosticism that is very clear throughout the doctrine.

“Salvation by special knowledge” “salvation by special interpretation” or “salvation by special mystery doctrine” Below is a definition of gnosticism.

The term Gnosticism is derived from the Greek word gnosis, meaning “to know” or “knowledge.” This knowledge is not intellectual but mythical and comes through a special revelation by Jesus Christ, the Redeemer, or through his Apostles. The secret knowledge reveals the key to salvation.

Where have we heard such before?

Paul refutes Dispensationalism in at two verses in Acts, and in other places as well. As does Peter in Acts.

Dispe’s don’t read Acts because they have a 13 book Bible that excludes Acts, so they aren’t aware of it.

Acts 26: 22 But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen—23 that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.”

So much for “mystery” and “special revelation”. “The mystery revealed to Paul”. Pft. Horsefeathers.

Avoid any hint of this heresy.

Bless you!

Its not what you DO, its who you ARE.

Salvation is free for a reason. Simply because you cannot obtain or attain , or retain it by your performance. On your best day you’d fail. Its not what you DO, its WHO you ARE that will get you to heaven.

If I were to walk away from Jesus, and totally rebel, God may put me in an early grave, he may put me flat of my back, or in a wheelchair, he may strip me of any rewards at judgement, and may even give me a whipping, but he promised to never leave nor forsake me, I will take him at his word.

THAT makes more sense than a man living faithfully all his life but failing in the end and going to hell.

If you subscribe to performance based salvation, then you yourself cannot say you are not going to hell, just hope fate finds you in a happy place when your time comes. Thats the fatalism taught by all false religions.

So? Who are you? Are you a child of the King?

Blessings!

“Each according to his works”: OSAS Accountability

Non OSAS makes NO sense.

Folks that believe one can lose salvation do not understand accountability, nor the judgement seat of Christ, at which all believers will give account “for the good and the bad”.

OSAS haters seem to think , and often accuse us of believing we can just do as we please and go to heaven. Well, they are right, we DO have liberty in Christ Jesus, but that does not mean we will not answer for our performance and behaviours in the flesh. When we do, it will not be about salvation, but rewards, or lack thereof.

Paul confirms our liberty when he tells us not to use our libery in Christ Jesus as an occasion to the flesh. He also tells us to “stand fast in your liberty in Christ Jesus, and be not entangled with a yoke of bondage”. So even here, Paul confirms the eternal security of the believer. Does this mean we are not accountable? Not at all.

In Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul tells us salvation is the gift of God, by his grace through faith. “Not of works, lest any man boast” so again, works have nothing to do with salvation, and thankfully so, because if it did, none of us would see heaven. Does mean we are not accountable? Of course not.

Salvation is God’s gift to the believer because that is the only way possible we can receive it. We are UNABLE to earn it, or keep it by our works or our own merits.

What they cannot, and do not understand is this:

It’s not about what we DO, its about who we ARE.

But again, our liberty in Jesus does not mean we will not be held accountable for our behaviours in the flesh, and for any sins carried into judgement, and rewarded accordingly.

For me, their are three unchangeable certainties that I cannot escape. I am going to heaven, and I am going to die one day. And one day I will give an account for the good and the bad at the judgement seat of Christ.

KNOWING , without a doubt that one will meet Jesus face to face, and give account for the good and the bad is a strong restrainer and motivator for a believer’s behaviour.

For those that do well, there will be a reward, for those that don’t, there may be stripes. Either way, Jesus loves us, and his love does not go away.

For the rebellious one, Jesus may shorten his days, may put him flat of his back in a hospital bed, and may even give him stripes on judgement day, but he will never forsake us. He paid too much and suffered too much to throw us away.

For their part, Non OSAS amounts to fatalist nonsense, the only thing that matters is what shape you are in when your time comes, nothing good you did previously in your life counts for a thing.

They cannot see the future, so their best hope is that fate finds them in a happy place when the time comes. Que sera sera. Totally ridiculous.

“When faced with competing doctrines, the doctrine that makes the most SENSE is the correct one”.

If one can lose salvation, judgement day is a waste of time. “Each according to his works” means what it says.

Blessings!

“Work out your salvation with fear and trembling”

The following is my friend Grace’s explanation of this passage of scripture.

“Someone mentioned Phil 2 : 12 again, somewhere, as if we have to work for eternal life. We often hear this nonsense.

How do you work out something you don’t have? You have to be in faith already (salvation) to work it out.
You can’t work out the Math problem if you don’t have one to solve.
You can’t go to a gym to “work out” unless you go there.

To “work out” your salvation , one had to be in, salvation.

Also if they cared to read the chapter and previous chapter , they would have known that Phil 2 is encouraging us to serve the Lord.” (Quoted from Grace Williams).

Predestination. License to sin in Calvinism.

Me to my friend Calvi: “Are all things predetermined before a man is born, and unchangeable?”

Calvi: “Why yes, that’s the omniscience of the Calvinist God”

Me: “So you are saying my destiny is assured and my fate is sealed, whichever way, heaven or hell, and I cannot change it?”

Calvi: “Why yes, that’s the omnipotent God of Calvinism” .

Me: “Ok, well, if that’s truly the case, that’s a huge relief, thank you for enlightening me man, because that means If I AM a chosen one, I can live like complete hell and go to heaven regardless, wow!, wooohooo! , YAAAYYY!, LET’S PARTY MAN!”

Me: “And I guess a downside is IF it turns out I’m NOT chosen, I’ve had a great run, awesome!, I can handle that, sign me up!”

Calvi: “ummm?, ok , whatever man.”

Me: “So what are you doing man? Look at you, being all religious for nothing. Why bother man?

Calvi: “how DARE YOU insult my religion!.”

Me: “Wait!, WAIT man, I’m JUST SAYIN: listen to me: THINK about it: YOU walk around living like a saint, when you don’t have to, because if youre chosen, you are going to heaven regardless, so chill man, and live it up, because you just might go to hell if you are not one of the chosen ones, better enjoy while you can brother.”

Calvi: “What are you talking about?!”

Me: “LISTEN to me Calvi, please, you’re depriving yourself. Ok, one more time: Like I said, IF your doctrines are true, you are pretty stupid to live the way you do, all religious and stuff, because there is no need to, enjoy man. Let it go, its ok, seriously, it’s all been decided, so eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die.”

Calvi: “Chirrp,..chirrp,…chirrrrp…Crickets.”

Me: “Calvi?…Calvi?…hey, where’d you go?”

Calvinists can’t think past their noses.
