Even Atheists hate the Calvinist god. (230)

I often debate atheists, and invariably 90% of them rant against the God that doesn’t exist. The God of the Calvinist. This is the god they hate. Thankfully he does not exist. “I agree with you Atheist, thankfully, the God you hate does not exist”.

Atheists will almost always impeach God for who they THINK he is: “I want nothing to do with a god that decrees murder and rape”. I don’t blame them, I don’t either.

But that concept, that idea of the god they deny HAD to be taught to them. The God they despise so much is the God of the Calvinist (and the muslim), Molech, false God of fortune and human sacrifice.

One example: They’ll say “well, a God that knows every crime that’s going to occur, and every rape and every murder and doesn’t do anything to stop is not the God that I want”: or “The god that allowed my baby to die, or the god that allowed my child to be raped or murdered mercessly by serial killer is not a God that I want” nor do I. “God’s plan for my life?” No thank you.

I totally agree with the atheist on this. That god they hate is the false god of Calvinism, and Islam as well.

I’ve come to realize that many atheists actually are backslid Calvinists in a sense, and the doctrine contained in their rationale and their statements is based on a Calvinist version of God.

The God that they hate so much, but say does not exist, is the God of the Calvinist.

Now if you don’t know what Calvinism is, I’ll give you the short version: Calvinism basically holds that God is “Sovereign”, which is correct, and that God doesn’t share his sovereignty, and he is the ONLY sovereign (incorrect).

The irony being that he apparently the Calvinist god is incapable of creating Sovereign beings.

Second, Calvinism holds that everything that happens, or will happen is all by his design, and his plan and you can’t change it, and all things that have happened, or will happen were ordained and decreed since before the world was created.

If true, why bother with religion.? Good point. Score another point for the atheist.

Calvinism also holds it wheher you’re going to heaven or hell, your final destiny was determined before you were born, and there’s nothing you can do to change that.

Well logically, again, it would lead you to conclude “why bother”, because in the end nothing will matter.

Many atheists subscribe to the Calvinist view of a god they claim doesnt exist, and they are not even aware of it.

He’s claiming he doesn’t believe in God while hating, denying, and dismissing the Calvinist version of God. More power to them. At least they know intuitively that the TRUE God should be a god of love.

The atheist claims unbelief, but has to believe something to form an opinion. He actually believes there’s a God, but in most exchanges, he’s speaking against the false god of the Calvinist.

If you compare Calvinism to Islam-the five petals and the five Pillars, there is very little difference.

And both of these religions’ doctrines amount to determinism and fatalism. Both are dead end, useless, fruitless, pointless vain religion.

Calvinism has birn many atheists.

Calvinism many times leads to atheism because it posits a God who is heartless, and who is not interactive, simply because he doesn’t have to be.

I mean why should you ask for anything if everything has already been determined where you going to get it or not?

Think about it: If God is already determined what’s going to happen to you down to the most minute detail, then praying to him for something to happen is kind of like praying for your favorite team to win last year’s Super Bowl.

They may have won , but your prayers had nothing to do with it. they may not have won, but again, your prayer is a bit late. It’s a year late, and if it had been a year early it wouldn’t matter. It is complete, total nonsense but that is the sum total of Calvinism.

In your witnessing and in talking to people a lot of times people have THIS VERY CONCEPT of who God is. It is the wrong concept, and the wrong idea of God.

Sadly, such nonsense and Calvinist doctrines have infected so many churches , and the flock is not even aware of it.

In recent times, the heresy has gone undercover, and renamed itself “reformed Doctrine”.

To close: If you see a “Reformed Baptist” or “Reformed Pentecostal”, or any church with reformed in its name, rest assured that it is a Calvinist church, with a false god the atheist loves to hate.

God Bless you!

Advice for the Pastor. (229)

The following comes from the notes that I wrote for a benediction and devotion at my pastor’s ordination service at my church.

After several years as the church moderator, leading us through a hard long struggle, I sought to share some things I had learned , and what our late Pastor had taught me, and give him some advice and encouragement that would help him in his ministry going forward.

Some said I should publish it, so I’ll share it with you.

First and foremost: Family comes first, the wife comes first. The marriage comes first. ALWAYS. Happy wife, happy life.

Next: Don’t let your zeal for God destroy your relationships, or your relationships with your family.

Avoid being dogmatic. Avoid dogmatism and legalism. What if youre WRONG?

Remember to be flexible. Every church is different, and every church that you go to will do things in different ways and in a different manner, and that’s okay. There is usually a good reason for it.

Just remember there’s a reason and a purpose for just about everything that you see going on in a church.

When you talk and minister to people don’t pry, just be a good listener.

If you’re a good listener, most people, within just a few minutes of a conversation will tell you their marital status, their relationship status, where they work, who they are related to, who YOU are related to, how many children and grand children they have, where they live, and half of their medical history, to include past and future surgeries within 20 minutes of initiating the conversation. Just be a good listener.

Remember that you’re not going to save the world, so don’t be disappointed when you don’t see results. Preach anyway.

Don’t allow pettiness and minor complaints to worry and hinder you.

Like a car, the more gadgets and moving parts it has, the more problems that go with it. Same goes for a church, don’t over extend the church or yourself with programs and activities. Keep it simple.

When talking to people, don’t ask a loaded question, or a question that you would lie about. And don’t ask questions that are none of your business.

One example. My dear late friend, who had preached and pastored for over 50 years told me that in all those years, he performed many weddings. During the prenuptial counseling session, he would always ask if the couple had slept together (which was none of his business). He told me that in 50 years, and all those couples, not one single couple admitted to sleeping together prior to their wedding day. Not the first couple.

Earnest chuckled, and finished by saying “In my 50 years of ministry, I caused a lot of folks to lie to me for a question I had no business asking in the first place”.

Yes, People WILL lie to the preacher.

Season your speech with salt. Words are like bullets, you cannot call them back.

Delegate delegate and delegate. Challenge people. If you’ve got someone who seems to be a potential problem, or on the fence, give him something to do. Help them grow, help them develop.

For someone with potential talent, give them a challenge, and equip, encourage and assist them along the way.

Don’t make hasty decisions or judgments. Give it a couple of days. Often things work themselves out without you having to move, or say a word.

Remember: There’s usually at least three sides to every story: His side, her side, and the truth. You’ll usually find truth between the two stories.

Don’t cast your pearls to swine.

Avoid people projects. Do not be an emotional or spiritual crutch for someone who is not willing to change, or says outwardly with their mouth that they want to change, but they’re not making any real effort to do so. Remember prayer is powerful, and there are times in the Bible when we are told NOT to pray for certain people, lest you be partakers of their sins (2 J 1:10), or your prayers stay his hand. (Jer 7:16).

Avoid these type of people. They will steal your time, your virtue, and your energy that is better spent on someone else.

Remember most things are not worth being right. Don’t value your differences more than you do your relationships. A disagreement should not be a dealbreaker.

Church folks vote with their feet and their pocketbook.

Your deacons pastors and trustees don’t run the church: Ultimately, the ladies run the church. Remember that most decisions are determined before the deacon or elder even leaves his house, the vote is merely a formality.

Keep everyone on board. everyone in the church has a talent that is useful for the church. Put em to work. Use them. Remember that.

Remember 2 plus 2 is 4, but so is 3 plus 1. Focus on results , not so much the process of getting there. People will all have different ways of doing things to accomplish the same goals. Allow others to spread their wings. Their way may not be the best way, but if accomplishes the goal, allow them to grow. Develop your people.

Avoid making unilateral decisions: Be a servant, not a dictator. Don’t get in trouble by yourself : always seek others opinion when possible before making any major decisions.

Keep your eyes and ears open, your mouth closed, and keep their secrets.

Always be the last one to weigh in with your opinion, especially in meetings. And remember it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.

In your preaching and teaching, you will offend people and hurt their feelings no matter how kind your delivery is. Get used to it, but don’t compromise the truth

Encourage, encourage, encourage. Be sure to recognize, speak well of, and commend people before others and the church. Yes, even the folks you don’t like.

Remember it is not your job to pet and cuddle church members, they should bear one another’s burdens. You cannot jump through hoops every time there is a problem. Delegate. Church members should visit and pray for one another so as to not over burden the pastor.

Stay out of people’s business. You don’t have to pry or even ask.

Remember nothing escapes the pastor’s ear. As I said earlier, folks will normally tell you everything during the course of a 20-minute conversation.

If you want to find out what’s going on in your church, just listen. A bird will bring it to your ears, don’t even worry about things like that.

Remember this scripture: by a multitude of wise council a purpose is established. Apply it in all your endeavours.

Remember to love your enemies, be kind of those that hate you, and in so doing you will keep hot coals on their head. In the process, you will not give them occasion against you, and you’ll be blameless.

In closing: don’t take church too seriously, don’t take others to seriously, and don’t take yourself too seriously.

Stay funny, enjoy your life, change what you can, pray about what you can ,and don’t worry about the rest.

God bless you!

What will Judgment Day be like? (228)

If Calvinism is true, judgement day is a complete absurdity, and a huge waste of time. Imagine being judged for what you were predetermined to do? Silly religion.

Calvinists don’t talk about judgement day. Or Jesus. Or the rapture. Or much of anything else except Romans 9.

A typical Calvinist rant: “Banannas are yellow because they are yellow, and that’s how God planned it to be,so behold! Yellow bananas!

That is a lot of words used to say absolutely nothing.

But I do want people to have an idea about judgement day, so I have included it in this book.

It seems most of the Christians that I talk to ANYWHERE cannot give you any real description, or a real idea about what Judgment day is going to be like, they just don’t know.

It’s like they don’t have all the puzzle pieces.

I think the root cause of that is they just don’t read their Bible, churches don’t go into the details much, and their teachers don’t read and study their own bibles either, so they aren’t much help.

So, the purpose of this chapter is to see what the Bible says about Judgment Day. At least in my opinion.

My hope is to provide an easy to understand, plain sense explanation that the average pew warming, unread, unstudied believer can easily understand, remember, and use to witness to, and hopefully win others to Jesus. “Common sense Christianity” if you will.

Let me be clear: This doctrine is my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt, or throw it in the trash when you’re finished reading if you want, I make no claim to prophethood, but BE A BEREAN, search the scriptures, study your Bible!

In some of my previous posts I write about many different judgments, and there are several judgments for different groups of believers at different times.

There are two at least 2 judgments for UNbelievers that I will mention.

The first judgement of unbelievers will be those who are alive at Jesus return with us, and THEN, a thousand years later, all the unbelieving dead in hell, including the rich man that spoke to Abraham in Luke 16:22-23. Also called “The second death” judgement.

At this judgement, commonly called “The great white Throne judgement”, all the unbelieving dead will be called up from hell, given an eternal body, and thrown into the lake of fire. Rev 20:12.

WE WON’T BE THERE. If you are a believer today, you will not stand the Great white throne judgement.

A few things in general about judgement day.

Remember: Unbelievers will not be judged with believers. Ps 1:5.

People will lie to God on judgement day: Luke 7:21-22.

Judgement day will NOT be about salvation, but degree of reward, if any, or degree of damnation.

We will have rewards for good works, and our bad works that we carry into judgment will take away from those rewards. 1 Cor 3:15-16.

Imagine a white box on one side of a scale, with all the good deeds in your life kept inside, and a black box on the other side, with your sins and bad deeds inside.

The white box is never emptied. If we continue in good works. It just continues to fill up. Even if we stop, they remain. That’s Gold. Imperishable. Money in the bank.

The Bible says we will give account for the good and the bad. The bad will be weighed against the good to determine rewards, if any at judgement.

We can empty that black box every day through prayer and confession. See 1 John 1:8-10. Our salvation secure in Christ Jesus.

Personally, gaining heaven is plenty enough for me, I’d be satisfied with a broom and a dust pan, and a specially designated corner to keep clean when I get there.

Sadly though, many will carry unconfessed sins into the judgment. I hope not to be one of those believers. I hope to not stand ashamed when Jesus appears for us. I hope to receive a full reward. 1 John 2:28.

For believers, again, they will give account for any sin carried into judgement, and it will take away from rewards, but will not be a “deal breaker” if you will. We are bought with a price, there are no refunds.

I hope we all “shine like the stars”, but for many, its not going to be that way.

Judgement day for many will not be about cotton candy, rainbows and pink unicorns. So spare your brother, warn him!

For those that do well in the faith, the Bible says “some will shine as the Stars” Dan 12: 3.

It also says that some will receive a whipping Luke 12:47-48. Many mistakenly believe that verse speaks of UNbelievers, not so. You cannot punish someone twice for the same crime. They unbeliever is simply bound and cast into the flames, not beaten first.

And for the worst offenders, some “will not inherit the kingdom”, which is ANOTHER widely misunderstood verse.

As I understand it means that those believers, albeut hypocrites, will still rule and reign with Jesus, But wil be given a beating first, then assigned a dominion and rule OUTSIDE the gates of New Jerusalem, on the “earthly side” with the mortals, where there will still be day and night. “Outer darkness” relatively speaking. (more on that in a future post).

Once again, these are believers here, not unbelievers. Judgement day is NOT a salvific issue and Unbelievers will not recieve a rebuke or stripes at judgement, they will simply be bound and cast into the flames.

SO. I want to go down this list, and give you a scripture reference to go along with what I just said. There are many other references as well. Study and see for yourself.

Luke 12:2 says Every Idle Word will be accounted for and all things will be revealed. “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.”

Psalms 1:5 says that the wicked will not stand in the congregation of the righteous in judgment.

This means salvation is not an issue on Judgment Day. If you are a believer, you are going to heaven. And you cannot change that. THAT is GOOD NEWS!

Ps 1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

One illustration is found in Matthew 25:31 through 41. See the sheep and the goats , saved and the unsaved are actually separated before they stand judgment. Their fate was sealed prior to judgement.

Romans 14:10 through 12 says that we will give account for the good and the bad.

Romans 2:6 2nd Corinthians 5:10 1 Peter 1:17 and Revelation 2012 says that we will receive our reward in accordance to our works, so rewards will be proportionate, but not everyone is going to receive the same reward.

Not all believers will receive a reward, some will receive a whipping, a beating as the Bible calls it. Some will have their rewards “inheritance” stripped and given to another, but they will still gain heaven.

Eph 5:5
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Luke 12:47-48 tells us some will receive Stripes. “Many blows” And some “a few blows”.

Accountable? Oh yes we are my friend.

Some will have their reward stripped and given to another. that’s in Matthew 25:26

Now, again, judgement day will not be a salvific issue, but merely one of the rewards, we are secure in Christ.

But look at THIS: Jesus tells us that if we’re faithful in a few things, he’ll make us ruler over many things, so reward is exponential, we’ll get a lot more then what we are worth. Mt 25:21 . His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

That’s good news!

A FEW things.. look at that. It aint hard folks.

The Bible says if we “abide in him” we can stand with confidence when he appears for us. 1 J 2:28

” abide in him” is not a reference to Salvation, it is a reference to Fellowship, good works, a clear conscience and remaining in prayer.

John 1 John 4:17 says some will stand ashamed.

1 Timothy 5:24 says that some people will carry sins into judgment.

Revelation 4:10 says that we will cast our crowns at Jesus’s feet.

Matthew 25:40 says all good deeds, no matter how minor will be remembered and rewarded.

Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Jesus said “inasmuch as ye did it unto these the least of my brothren, ye did it unto me” in Mt 25:31-41

He’s talking about a glass of water there. He remembers the good, and forgets the bad things IF we confess them. 1 J 1:8-10 Thats a pretty good deal dontcha think?

Continuing on, again, all unconfessed sins at judgement will count against your reward. That is in 1st Corinthians 3:15 and second John 1:8 through 10 and 1 J 2:8. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

Again salvation is not the issue on judgement day.

If you read Matthew 25:31-41 you’ll see that sheep and goats are divided before judgement begins (we will JUDGE there).

Jesus knows those that are his before judgement.

Daniel 12:3 says those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars.

Luke 13:28 says that others, the fornicators and hypocrites caught unawares into judgement (by sudden death or the rapture) will weep and gnash their teeth. you’ll also find that in Matthew 13:50.

Matthew 13:42 Matthew 24:51 Luke 8:17 says that everything done in secret, and every idle word will come to light.

1 John 2:28 says that many will stand ashamed, but it also says if we abide in him we can stand with confidence, and receive a full reward. See my post “a full reward” for more.

In closing, what that means my friend is to stay in prayer, stay in good works, stay in fellowship with the Lord , love your neighbor as yourself, and finally love the Lord Jesus with all your heart.

I hope this is a blessing to you!

Satan’s future. (227)

In my previous blog about judgments I overlooked something, I overlooked the devil’s judgment. That’s something we don’t hear much about in church.

Satan will stand as our accuser at the Bema seat in heaven , Rev 11:18. Then he will be cast down to earth shortly thereafter, Rev 12:7, and will AGAIN stand as accuser at the judgement of the nations when we return with Jesus. Mt 25:31-41, Rev 20:1-3.

I believe he will be THE first to be bound, and cast into the flames after accusing the saints, and it comes time to condemn the unbelievers.

If you’ll read in Matthew 25:31 through 41, it says the UNBELIEVERS will be bound and cast into the furnace.

This same judgment is mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6, and it also says in other places that the devil would be bound and cast into the bottomless pit , Rev 20:1-3, SO he will be judged also, and cast into hell with the unbelievers.

IS 14: 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

22 For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.

23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the Lord of hosts.

24 The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

If you’ll read in Matthew 25:31 through 41 that the UNBELIEVERS will be bound and cast into the furnace, well the same judgment is mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6, and it also says in other places in that the devil would be bound and cast into the bottomless pit , Rev 20:1-3, SO he will be judged also, and cast into hell with the unbelievers.

He will be there for 1000 years and then be released for a “little season”. Rev 20:3. After this, the great White throne judgement begins and he is thrown into the Lake of fire along with everyone else in hell.

Rev:20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Pure speculation here.

Ohh this is DEEP. “Is this the man?” Seems he will be given a mortal body, as Jesus was, then executed by fire, then raised out of hell and given an eternal body, and cast into the lake of fire.

It appears that the devil will be given an eternal body of a man. Much like Jesus. I dont really understand all of ISaiah 14.

If such happens, it will be in Rev 20:1-3

“Thy grave” implies he dies a physical death and goes to hell.

He would taste mortal death the same as those he decieved and murdered. He would taste the death he caused Jesus. Sounds fair to me.

I bet they don’t talk about that in seminaries

Church folks would think I’m crazy if I was to start talking about such as that they’d look at me like I had my ears screwed on backwards or something, but it makes sense.

That’s the devil’s future folks,

God bless!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 11:25;Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
